While liberals are known for being patient, reasonable people who don’t often bitch and moan about the trivial, some folks on the far left are speaking out in regards to the clear lack of liberalism in Barack Obama’s policy moves and appointments since he was inaugurated president.
… Wait, what’s that? This just in: Barack Obama is NOT YET PRESIDENT. Still, prominent democratic party members and ultra-liberals with blogs are finding all kinds of faults with the possible direction in which things may be seeming to start in the direction of. Complaints include Obama’s going back on the taxation of oil companies’ windfall profits, immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq and appointments to cabinet positions dealing with the economy such as Tim Geithner and Lawrence Summers, a pair hardly known for a pro-labor stance (but well known for being co-owners of Tim & Larry’s Family Feedbag).
While many find it unreasonable to judge the president-to-be on statements made within a month following the election, a time when past presidents-to-be have historically partied like it’s the last chance they’ll ever get, many are saying that Obama is turning his back on the liberal groups that he relied on for votes. According to these folks, he’s turning out to be too much like the exiting president. Greg Kishoriev of DemocracyActually.com wrote on his prominent blog “When I voted for Obama, I though I was getting a radical secret Muslim who would legalize pot, tax the hell out of everything in sight and turn all the guns into ornamental memorial wall hangings for dying trees…but it looks like he’s going to be a dud.” Similar sentiment is being seen on liberal blogs all over the internet.
