Controversy has arisen among the peanut gallery in regards to one of the more contested honors in modern pop culture: Who is the worst band in the world? Finally, we have an answer.
Some might be inclined to give this honor to Insane Clown Posse, Limp Bizkit or even pseudo-religious misfits Creed, but thanks to search query stats on a number of search engines, it’s become quite clear that Nickelback is, in fact, a cut above (below?) all the rest, and the fair winner of 2009’s award.
Granted, I’ve spent countless drunken nights belting my own ham-handed rendition of “How You Remind Me” directly into the faces of complete strangers, but it comes as no great surprise that Alberta, Canada’s Nickelback is widely recognized by non-self-hating people everywhere as the world’s worst band. Sure, they’ve sold millions of records– but apparently to become the world’s worst band you must first become one of the world’s most successful.
