Director Tim Burton has an innate talent in “creepifying” children’s bedtime stories. He’s also got a knack for showcasing his two favorite obsessions/actors, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, along with their equally creepy dramatic skills. His newest project - a new spin on Lewis Carrolls’ Alice in Wonderland, set to release March 5, 2010 - is no exception.

Even though the release date is still almost a year away, the anticipation for the film peaked today as more shots from the movie were leaked online.
With a frighteningly psychotic looking mad-hatter, a strikingly disproportionate queen of hearts, and Anne Hathaway looking even paler than normal, Burton fans had much to gossip and speculate about. The movie will include all of the Alice Favorites including Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, the chatting flowers, and Alan Rickman as the philosophical caterpillar. However, this delightfully dark film puts a spin on the original, as it takes place a decade later with a now teenage Alice returning down the rabbit hole for a second time. While it’s most likely going to be dubbed a “children’s movie,” we have no doubts that we’ll be having nightmares featuring Johnny Depp as a Willy Wonka/Mad Hatter Hybrid for weeks.

I started to like the character more and more. Kind of excited for the trailer to come out!
I’m very interested in this kind of themed-movies. I absolutely love Tim Burton’s work, even though a lot of people do think it’s “creepy”. I know a lot of people will agree with me. It’s still very entertaining ^_^
