Pabst: Not Just a Great Beer

Forget about purebred pups with pedigrees–This weekend’s top dogshow was all about honoring those canines with mugs that only an owner can love. With gnarly coats, stumpy tails, missing eyes, and scraggly teeth, dogs came from all over the globe to win the coveted title of the World’s Ugliest Dog.

While there were some fierce competitors, the ultimate winner was Pabst, a Boxer Mix who won the judge’s votes with his protruding under-bite. This was a total upset, as it was former champion Rascal who was the favorite for the title. Pabst walked away (on leash) with $1,600 in prize money and a sexy modeling contract with “House of Dog.”

While Pabst stole the crown this year, we still are partial to Gus, a Chinese Crested Dog who died of cancer after winning the ugliest award in 2008.
