After 20 years, 10 studio albums and dozens of hits loved in two isolated regions of the United States, country duo Brooks and Dunn have decided to call it quits. By the way, the Brooks in Brooks and Dunn isn’t Garth Brooks. Isn’t that weird? This whole time, I totally thought it was. Oh well, it doesn’t matter now.
The pair of millionaire cowboys said in a message to their fans that their break-up is conflict free and that “it’s just time.” The asked fans not to listen to any rumors. Not that their long time romance is now affecting their music, not that Brooks donated a kidney to Dunn and then his other one failed, not that the two are planning on faking their deaths and joining Tupac and Kurt Cobain on their secret island in the South Pacific. None of them.
While Brooks and Dunn have been a favorite in country bars across the friendliest region in America for over two decades, the torch will be passed to such burgeoning acts as…oh hell, who am I kidding, I don’t listen to country.
