Red-blooded Americans pregnant with apprehension over what Barack Obama had to say to their kids received zero fuel for their conspiracy theories after the president’s speech today amounted to little more than the usual pep talk. Nevertheless, those that spent the last eight years calling themselves patriots and labeling their former president’s critics as traitors seemed to have no problem finding a sinister undertone in the forthright monologue of our current leader.
School districts in six states, including Obama’s home state of Illinois, have refused to show the president’s speech to their students. This action comes without the foresight that this guy, whether his words are heard or not, is the president and will be for at least another three years or so. Any reasonable educational institution should realize that what he says is important not necessarily because it is true or agreeable, but because it helps us learn more about our leader. Of course, burying the head is a favorite technique of the uneducated, and so the downward spiral for these school districts is sparked, if not bound to continue.
What is amazing is the varying definition of a demon in different areas across our nation. A temperament of a man who spent eight years thrashing our economy is now being clamored for over a man whose top priority is the very middle class that calls him the Antichrist. It’s astonishing how little thinking goes into such a stance. Well, at least his wife is nice.
