An epidemic of rational behavior seems to be sweeping across the United States of America. On the heels of the Iowa state supreme court’s ruling legalizing gay marriage, another state decided it would probably a good idea to treat human beings like the human beings they are and not deny them the right to do things that human beings are generally allowed to do.
Vermont is the latest state to realize that the church and the state are two completely separate entities, and have thus granted the gays the right to do the whole “til’ death or divorce do us part‘ thing via a vote in the state legislature (overriding the veto of Governor Jim Douglas). Not since the heyday of the Soviet-sponsored Communist threat has the domino effect produced such efficient results.
