In a break from the commonly known understanding between hunter and deer, a 9 point buck recently attacked a hunter in Sedalia, MO.
Randy Goodman, who had put two .270 caliber bullets in the animal just moments before the vicious attack, approached the deer most probably to see if it was ok. He’s wasn’t ok, but he also wasn’t quite dead, and began to give Goodman a little taste of his own weapons. Goodman was shocked and frightened at the beast’s wild behaviour, stating that he never expected such an elegant animal to lash out and lay on him what he described as “15 seconds of hell.”
The buck finally went down, but the damage had been done. Goodman’s injuries required seven staples in the scalp and treatment for a mild concussion. When asked how he would get past the emotional scarring that resulted from this traumatic event, the beleaguered Goodman said that he needed to realize that it was not his fault, get his head together, and get back out there next week to murder the buck’s entire family.
