Thanks to the awesome blogger-power we sucked up from Sony and Technorati, we’re about to share some of the great stuff we filmed at SXSW. Here’s the official announcement -click away to to learn more about the camera, which was - no joke - small enough to fit in my pocket and easier to use than a frat boy. We had an orange one, so we covered it in glitter nail polish and nicknamed it Lindsay Lohan (weird - the camera is cheap, too).

There’s a reason they call SXSWi spring break for geeks, and it has as much to do with water as it does with the relentless parties. The thing is, things come in seas here - seas of laptops, seas of hightops, seas of half-shaven guys in horn rimmed glasses - and even though the kid sitting next to you may have found a way to hack into the PA system from his iPhone, it takes more to make waves here than a few techie tricks.

We’re about to track down the things that aren’t all that rad at SXSWi - and hunt down a few things that are (and we’re doing it on camera). A few things happen at every conference, the most dependable of which is having a slinger of promo thrown at your face. You land a particularly tree-filled one here - and just so you don’t feel left out: a shot from the Big Bag o’ SXSW.

No idea what that mitten is supposed to be for - our guess is to hold jellybeans. Free tee and stickers to the first person who comes up with something stellar to do with it (and we’ll even throw the mitten in, yayyy).

Off to the Web Awards reception party - catch you there?

It’s almost take-off time, and we are antsy for Austin. We’ll be tracking the parties, the panels, and everything inbetween (well, just stuff we can publish without a lawsuit), so put your frogskins on, RSS up, and get ready for a glorious geek break.
