4chan’s Tube Hack Hits Home. Erm, Work.

5/27/09 - Posted by Abdullah Saeed under Industry
Though our beloved YouTube has had a seedy side since open registration got its sixth member (thanks for the borderline smut, lovemachine001), rules and regulations have kept everything safe for work (’SFW’) and stringent laws have been put in place to keep out sexually explicit but thoroughly entertaining adult videos (SEBTEAV), creating a safety bubble around all members. On May 24th, that bubble was incised, filled with dirty, dirty porn, and resealed, leaving us all face to face with shocking images we’ve never seen before.
Members of Japanese bulletin board 4chan were responsible for posting approximately 5000 actual porn videos on YouTube as retribution for YouTube’s alleged removal of music videos from their site. Upon inspection of the posted videos however, it appeared that there were links inserted that led viewers to sites dispensing malware, giving us an answer to the ‘why?’ in this. Further “why’s?” can be found in Time Magazine’s 100 List, which was believed to be another 4chan hack victim hardly a month ago. So what happens when nerds cooperate and get an opportunity to rebel against a world that has treated them like the squares they are? They post porn on the internet. Thanks guys, no one has ever done anything that crazy before.

Moms Mad at Motrin

11/17/08 - Posted by Carmel Hagen under Gossip, Health

This new Motrin ad, featuring a rather sexily designed lead-up to “zOMG, my baby kills my back,” is making moms pissed. It’s hard to tell why, exactly (for some of us, which is probably yet another reason we should be commended for not having children)… but if you get it, feel free to explain in the comment section.

Hollywood moves fast. Real fast. And if you’ve had even a pinch of fame during your lifespan, chances are a motion picture production company will be in the works to produce your biopic before you’ve even been buried. So goes the tale of Billy Mays, the pitchman most recognized for his husky/on the verge of [...]

  • Charts Afire // MJ Memory Fest Proves Pop’s in the Grave

Pop musicians got a shock this week when a man who changed the face of their field not only prematurely kicked the bucket, but gave them one final schooling from beyond the grave. Michael Jackson’s music is tearing up the charts and, with much poetic justice, bumping out contemporary pop stars like the Black Eyed [...]

In the days following the death of Michael Jackson, internet hoaxsters have tried their hand at convincing us that famous people are dropping like flies. First there were the Jeff Goldblum rumors, then they told us our beloved Harrison Ford and Britney Spears had gone the way of the dodo.
Being the astute followers of pop [...]

Forget about purebred pups with pedigrees–This weekend’s top dogshow was all about honoring those canines with mugs that only an owner can love. With gnarly coats, stumpy tails, missing eyes, and scraggly teeth, dogs came from all over the globe to win the coveted title of the World’s Ugliest Dog.

11-Year Old Harvey Kindlon was so close! He managed to get within feet of uber-beauty of the moment Megan Fox at the London premiere of Transformers 2, when his well-documented quest to give her a yellow rose was stymied by the flashbulbs of photo hounds from the UK’s trashiest rags. It seemed all was well [...]
